Prague's Na Františku Hospital Opens Dedicated Emergency room for Adults

Prague's Na Františku Hospital has opened a dedicated emergency outpatient clinic for adults. The new facility has been in operation since 15 July and is intended to improve the organisation of acute medical care.

Until now, the out-of-hours medical service was provided as part of the hospital's emergency department. The new Emergency room remains located within the same premises but has its own waiting area.

The service is intended for adult patients whose health condition has suddenly changed or whose illness has acutely worsened and who require urgent treatment outside the regular opening hours of GP surgeries.

The Emergency room is open Monday to Friday from 5.00 pm to 9.30 pm. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, it is available to patients from 10.00 am to 9.30 pm.

"We believe that the new organisation of emergency care will make the service clearer and more convenient for patients," said Jan Duben, Director of Na Františku Hospital. By separating the out-of-hours medical service from the emergency department, medical care can be organised more effectively according to each patient's condition and individual needs.

Duben added that the opening of the new outpatient clinic was the result of long-term cooperation with the hospital's founder, Prague 1 Municipal District, as well as the City of Prague.

The reorganisation of emergency care forms part of a long-term strategy to modernise medical services at Na Františku Hospital. The aim is to make healthcare services easier to navigate, improve operational efficiency, and ensure appropriate care for all patients.

Na Františku Hospital has long played an important role in providing acute medical care for residents and visitors to the Czech capital. In addition to its emergency department and out-of-hours medical service, the hospital also operates an emergency dental service and an emergency pharmacy with a medical supplies dispensary.
