Leo Express to Operate Direct Trains from Frankfurt via Prague to Przemyśl in Poland from the End of July

From the end of July, Leo Express will operate direct train services between Frankfurt am Main, Prague and the Polish city of Przemyśl for the first time. At the same time, the Czech rail operator is expanding its services with new Economy Sleeper carriages.

Leo Express is continuing to expand its international rail network. From 31 July, its trains will operate directly between Frankfurt am Main, Prague and the Polish city of Przemyśl for the first time.

Since 25 June, Leo Express has operated the Frankfurt – Prague – Przemyśl route. However, due to an ongoing economic assessment procedure in Poland, the operator was initially unable to run trains on the eastern section of the route and instead used replacement buses. Following the completion of the procedure, the service will now operate entirely by train.

The service uses modern RIC coaches approved for international operation, equipped with air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Tickets are available from CZK 239 in Economy Class and from CZK 599 in Business Class.

From the end of July, Leo Express will also expand its offering with Economy Sleeper carriages. Tickets start from CZK 899 and include breakfast.

“By extending our direct service to Przemyśl, we are continuing to realise our vision of an international rail network. Przemyśl is the natural gateway to Ukraine and an important transport hub in eastern Poland. The new connection makes travel easier for thousands of people and strengthens links between Western and Eastern Europe,” said Leo Express CEO Peter Köhler.

In Poland, the train will stop at, among other stations, Przemyśl Główny, Rzeszów Główny, Tarnów, Kraków Główny and Oświęcim. Tickets for this section of the route are initially available until 29 August due to the current timetable change in Poland. Sales for the subsequent period are expected to begin during August. Tickets for the section between Frankfurt and Bohumín are already available until 12 December 2026.

Sleeper Carriages with Breakfast Included

The new Economy Sleeper carriages offer compartments for one to four passengers. Facilities include air conditioning, Wi-Fi and power sockets. Travellers can choose between mixed compartments or women-only compartments. Breakfast is included in the ticket price.

Leo Express advises that engineering works on the German rail network may result in timetable changes. Passengers are therefore advised to check the latest departure times in the booking system before travelling.
