The soundscapes of Vangelis will once again fill Prague’s O2 universum in April 2027. Audiences can look forward to a symphonic tribute to the world-famous composer and his legendary film music.
The music of Greek composer Vangelis will return to Prague next spring. Following the successful concert in 2026, the Vangelis Original Symphonic Concert will return to the O2 universum on 21 April 2027.
The programme combines symphonic arrangements with large-scale visual projections. It will feature well-known compositions from films including ‘Blade Runner’, ‘Chariots of Fire’, ‘Bitter Moon’, ‘The Bounty’ and ‘Alexander’.
A special focus will be placed on the music from the historical film ‘1492: Conquest of Paradise’. Its soundtrack introduced Vangelis’ music to an international audience. The title track, ‘Conquest of Paradise’, became a worldwide success far beyond the film and continues to be played at sporting events, ceremonial occasions and other special events to this day.

Pioneer of Electronic Music
Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou, known worldwide by his stage name Vangelis, is regarded as one of the most influential composers of the 20th century. By combining electronic sounds with symphonic elements, he helped shape both electronic music and the development of modern film music.
Alongside the soundtrack to ‘1492: Conquest of Paradise’, one of his best-known works is the music for the film ‘Chariots of Fire’. Vangelis received the Academy Award for Best Original Score for it in 1982.
The Vangelis Original Symphonic Concert in Prague commemorates the musical work and legacy of the composer, who died in 2022. Tickets are available through Ticketportal and Ticketmaster.
