Zažít Americkou jinak: Americká Street Festival 2026

Prague’s Vinohrady district will once again be filled with music, culinary delights and a sense of community in mid-September. The popular “Zažít Americkou jinak” street festival returns with an extensive programme and free admission.

On Saturday, 12 September, Americká and Záhřebská streets will become a car-free promenade from 10.30 to 22.00. Visitors can expect a varied programme featuring concerts, dance and theatre performances, workshops and activities for children. There will also be numerous food stalls serving dishes and drinks from different parts of the world.

Musicians, bands and DJs will perform on a total of five stages throughout the day. The programme on the “La Calle Mexicana” stage begins at 11.00 with Studio Anyo. This will be followed by a piñata, live performances by Razcarmelo, Mariachi Azteca de Praga and Faustina Calavera, as well as various competitions. At 16.00, Mexican independence will be ceremonially commemorated with “El Grito”. The Guacamole Sound System will bring the programme to a close from 19.30.

Electronic music takes centre stage at “Burza #4”, “Soundset” and the “Esoterique Lounge”. DJs performing there include Sidney Stereo, Weal Orper, SeBisH, Dash, Voita, MikkiM, Yukimura, Michael S Rossignol, Perucci, Sonority, DJ Sonny Bee, DJ Zlatička and DJ Vikki.

Tim Otis and DJ Shimi can be heard on the “Záhřebská Beats” stage from 12.00. They will be followed by live performances from Colibris feat. Hosts and Bipolární září, before Romario concludes the stage programme from 20.00 to 21.30.

“Zažít Americkou jinak is a festival of flavours, sounds and colours. It shows that diversity is our greatest strength. Here, people share their stories and work together to create an atmosphere that connects generations and cultures. We started as a small neighbourhood festival, and today we welcome people from all over the world,” explains chief organiser Omri Goz.

International cuisine and local gastronomy

Throughout the day, visitors can sample specialities from Mexican, Latin American and international cuisine. In addition to a variety of street food, establishments from the immediate area will also take part in the festival. The MINT Market invites again visitors to browse design pieces by local creatives and original products from Latin America.

During the event, Americká and Záhřebská streets will remain closed to traffic. Parking will also not be permitted there. The festival is being held under the auspices of the Prague 2 municipal district, and admission is free.
