Prague Congress Centre Posts Record Profit in 2025

Despite declining visitor numbers, the Prague Congress Centre recorded the most financially successful year in its history in 2025. Revenue and profit rose significantly. At the same time, the company is investing in a new exhibition hall that will enable Prague to host even larger international events in the future.

The Prague Congress Centre (Kongresové centrum Praha, KCP) achieved earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of CZK 234 million last year. This represents an increase of 27 per cent compared with 2024, when the figure stood at CZK 184 million.

Net profit increased by 48 per cent, or CZK 45 million, to CZK 138.9 million. Total revenue rose by seven per cent year on year to CZK 717 million.

“Our aim is to strengthen our position as a modern European congress centre over the long term and remain competitive in the growing international market,” said KCP Director General Lenka Žlebková. She added that the results showed the company was on the right track.

Around 210,000 visitors came to the congress centre during 2025. This was 16 per cent fewer than in the previous year. A total of 185 events were held there, including 135 congresses and lectures as well as 50 cultural and social events.

According to Žlebková, the decline in visitor numbers was primarily due to a change in the composition of events. The proportion of large international congresses, which take place over several days and place greater demands on the services provided, is increasing.

New Exhibition Hall to Be Completed by 2028

Construction of the new hall began in June 2026. Following two months of underground work, construction of the main building began in mid-August. Tower cranes are due to be erected on the site in September.

The new hall will offer 5,000 square metres of exhibition space. This will allow the congress centre to bid for particularly large and prestigious international events in the future.

Major events held last year included the World Congress of Psychiatry, the Congress of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology and the World Congress of Fetal Medicine. Other events included a meeting of the internet organisation ICANN and Forum 2000.

The congress centre complex also includes the four-star Holiday Inn Prague, which has 254 rooms. Its revenue increased by four per cent in 2025. The company attributes this development to stable demand from domestic and international guests.

According to the latest ranking by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Prague ranks sixth worldwide among the leading congress destinations. According to KCP, congress delegates also have a significantly greater economic impact on the city than ordinary tourists.
