Emirates Brings Airbus A380 Back to Prague

After a longer break, the Airbus A380 will once again be a regular sight at Prague Airport from October. For passengers, its return also brings greater comfort and an expanded offering on the route to Dubai.

The Airbus A380 is returning to Prague. From Thursday, 1 October, Emirates will once again deploy the world’s largest passenger aircraft daily on the route between the Czech capital and Dubai. With the return of the A380, the airline is also introducing its Premium Economy Class on the route for the first time.

From 1 October, the Airbus A380 will once again operate the daily Emirates flights EK139 and EK140 between Dubai and Prague. The aircraft type is listed for the route from Thursday in the airline’s booking system.

A modernised version of the A380 with three travel classes will be used. In total, the aircraft offers 569 seats: 437 in Economy Class, 56 in Premium Economy and 76 in Business Class.

Premium Economy for the First Time from Prague

One of the most important new features for passengers from the Czech Republic is the introduction of Premium Economy Class. With the return of the A380, it will be offered regularly on the route between Prague and Dubai for the first time. The travel class is positioned between Economy and Business Class and offers, among other things, wider seats, more legroom and an enhanced onboard service.

Business Class remains located on the upper deck of the A380. Passengers there also have access to the onboard lounge characteristic of the aircraft type. According to the airline, Emirates’ “ice” entertainment system offers more than 6,500 channels.

Czech Republic Back at 100 Per Cent

The return of the A380 coincides with the full restoration of Emirates’ capacity on the Czech market. According to a report by AeroWeb, capacity in the Czech Republic is once again at 100 per cent of its previous level. The modernised Airbus A380 had originally been scheduled to operate between Prague and Dubai from 1 June. However, the planned deployment was postponed against the backdrop of the tense situation in the Middle East at the time and the associated operational restrictions.

Across its global route network, Emirates currently operates around 93 per cent of its previous capacity, according to the airline. The renewed deployment of the A380 is now intended to further expand the offering from Prague. For many travellers from the Czech Republic, Dubai serves primarily as a transfer hub for long-haul connections. Important destinations include the Maldives, Sri Lanka and the Seychelles, as well as Japan, Singapore, Australia and South Africa.

With the introduction of Premium Economy, Emirates is also expanding its offering from October for passengers from Prague who want more comfort than in Economy Class on long-haul flights without travelling in Business Class.
