With “LEGACY”, Roger Waters is bringing the music of the classic Pink Floyd era back in a new stage production. The focus is on songs from the 1970s, performed as closely as possible to the sound of the original recordings.

Roger Waters is bringing a new concert production to Prague in 2027. “LEGACY – A Pink Floyd Show” will be staged at the O2 universum on 8 June 2027 and is dedicated to the music and visual language of Pink Floyd from the years 1971 to 1979.

Developed under the direction of Roger Waters, the production focuses on songs from the albums The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall. A ten-piece band will perform on stage under the musical direction of his son Harry Waters.

Alongside the music, the visual design will also play a central role. High-resolution LED screens will show images and motifs inspired by the original Pink Floyd productions and by work from Roger Waters’ time with the band.

“These songs have meant so much to so many people for so many years. I’m looking forward to audiences being able to experience them live together again,” Roger Waters said when announcing the tour. He added that his son had put together an excellent band for the production.

Harry Waters takes over musical direction

Harry Waters plays Hammond organ and piano in “LEGACY” and also performs vocal parts. His connection to the music of Pink Floyd goes back to his childhood. As a child, his voice could already be heard on the album The Wall in the song “Goodbye Blue Sky”. He later spent more than 15 years performing on stage as a musician alongside his father. Among other things, he took part in the tours for The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall and also performed at the Desert Trip concerts in 2016.

For the new production, the aim is to reproduce the sound of the original recordings as accurately as possible. According to Harry Waters, the band wants to perform the songs as authentically and as closely to the original album versions as possible. The concert programme, lasting more than two hours, was developed together with drummer Graham Broad. Harry Waters describes Animals as his personal favourite Pink Floyd album, while “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” is among the songs he particularly enjoys performing live.

Singer found after worldwide search

For the vocal parts originally performed by Roger Waters in Pink Floyd, Roger and Harry Waters launched an international online search. More than 3,000 applications were submitted. Clifton David Broadbridge was eventually selected. The Canadian-born singer, who now lives in Nashville, was chosen after an in-person audition with Harry Waters.

The band also includes guitarists Edo Scordo and Antonello Pudva, singers Eva Avila and Genevieve Little, bassist Dahniel Knight, Ryan Saranich on saxophone, percussion, guitar and keyboards, as well as keyboard player Matt Riddle.

Pink Floyd music from the 1970s

Roger Waters was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd in 1965 and later played a decisive role in shaping the band as a lyricist and conceptual driving force. He was closely involved in albums such as The Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals and The Wall.

After leaving the band in 1985, Waters continued his career as a solo artist. He is also known for elaborate live shows featuring large-scale projections, light installations and theatrical elements – a concept that is also set to play a central role in “LEGACY”.

Pink Floyd are among the most successful rock bands in music history. According to the band’s official biography, more than 250 million albums have been sold worldwide. The Dark Side of the Moon and The Wall have also been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame.
