A new takeaway bistro has opened on Prague’s Old Town Square. BEEFy Burger combines classic street food with famous figures from Czech history, adding a generous helping of humour and flavour.
BEEFy Burger has opened in one of Prague’s most iconic locations, right next to the entrance to Hotel U Prince and directly opposite the famous Astronomical Clock. The concept brings Czech history to the menu, with well-known figures such as Charles IV, Jan Hus, Jan Žižka and Božena Němcová each lending their names and stories to different dishes.
Behind each dish is a little story that doesn't take itself too seriously. According to one such tale, the classic cheeseburger was born when Forefather Čech climbed Mount Říp, surveyed the land below and declared: "This is the promised land, flowing with bacon and cheese." Historians later pointed out that the original quote was somewhat different. But historians never tasted the burger.

The menu includes the classic cheeseburger, a bacon burger and, for those who prefer something a little spicier, the Royal Chilli Burger. There are also loaded fries, the Old Town Dog, brownies, ice cream and shakes.
The meat for the burgers comes from local butchers. The sauces are made in-house, while the buns come from the group's own bakery. All burgers are also available in vegetarian versions.
BEEFy Burger is part of the Bauer Hotel Group, which has been operating in Prague city centre for more than 30 years. The family-run group's portfolio includes Hotel U Prince, Terasa U Prince, Deer Restaurant, Zlatý Strom and Black Angel’s Cocktail Bar.
“Our vision is that the buildings we take care of should not remain merely monuments, but should be a living part of Prague,” explains Petr Bauer Jr., CEO of the Bauer Hotel Group.

The BEEFy Burger concept was developed under the leadership of Zdeněk “Zed” Střížek, founder of Prague’s Burgerfest festival and Bejzment Burger Restaurant. With years of experience in the restaurant industry, he certainly knows a thing or two about burgers. According to Střížek, despite the unusual presentation, the main focus remains firmly on quality.
“We want people to come and try our burgers, but more importantly, we want them to come back because they genuinely like them,” says Střížek.
Despite its prominent location directly on Old Town Square, prices remain comparatively moderate, with burgers starting at CZK 169. A combo meal costs an additional CZK 79 with a soft drink or CZK 99 with beer, including homemade fries.

BEEFy Burger is also a great option for night owls, with burgers available until midnight. This makes it a good choice for a late-night bite or something to eat on the way home after a visit to a bar.
History meets street food on Prague’s Old Town Square, with a generous helping of humour. Whether you're following in the footsteps of Charles IV or Jan Žižka, or simply looking for a tasty burger in the heart of the city, BEEFy Burger offers a chance to enjoy a bite of Prague.
