The international restaurant chain Sticks’n’Sushi will open its first restaurant in the Czech Republic in early November. The new location at Jungmannovo náměstí in central Prague combines Japanese cuisine with Scandinavian design.

On Wednesday, 4 November 2026, Sticks’n’Sushi will open its first restaurant in the Czech capital. Originally from Denmark, the restaurant chain focuses on a combination of Japanese cuisine and Danish hospitality. After almost two years of preparation, the company is now set to enter the Czech market.

Sushi, Sashimi and Japanese Grilled Specialities

The culinary concept of Sticks’n’Sushi combines classic Japanese dishes with modern creations. Alongside sushi and sashimi, the menu also features salads and grilled skewers prepared in the kushiyaki style. Particular emphasis is placed on dishes designed to be shared at the table.

Specialities include Beef Tataki, featuring beef fillet with miso aioli, truffle ponzu and crispy Jerusalem artichoke. With the so-called Temaki Setto, guests can assemble their own sushi rolls with lobster, Wagyu tartare and avocado.

The menu is complemented by a selection of sake, Japanese teas, cocktails and spirits. A Japanese Rice Lager developed exclusively for Sticks’n’Sushi by the Danish brewery Mikkeller is also part of the drinks selection.

“We are very proud to bring Sticks’n’Sushi to Prague and introduce this concept to the Czech market,” explains Zbyněk Pokorný, Managing Director of Sushi Group s.r.o. After almost two years of preparation, the company is looking forward to welcoming its first guests.

From Copenhagen to Prague

Sticks’n’Sushi was founded in Copenhagen in 1994 by brothers Jens and Kim Rahbek, who have Danish and Japanese roots, together with Thor Andersen. From its first restaurant in a Copenhagen basement, the business developed into an international restaurant group over the years.

Today, the brand operates twelve restaurants in Copenhagen and the surrounding area, three locations in Berlin and 17 restaurants in the United Kingdom. With the opening in Prague, Sticks’n’Sushi is expanding its international network with its first location in the Czech Republic.
