How is a car made, and what production steps are involved? From November, visitors will be able to take a behind-the-scenes look at modern vehicle production at Toyota’s factory in Kolín, Czech Republic. The car manufacturer is opening its production facilities to the public and offering free factory tours.

After a break of several years, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic is once again offering regular factory tours in Kolín. While the tours were initially intended primarily for employees and their families, they will now be open to anyone interested in seeing how cars are manufactured.

“Car manufacturing fascinates many people, but only a few have the opportunity to experience it up close. That is why we are pleased to open the doors of our plant to the public and show how Toyota vehicles are made,” explains Robert Kiml, President of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Czech Republic.

During the tours, visitors will not only learn about modern technologies and automated production processes but also gain an insight into the work of the employees involved in manufacturing the vehicles.

Two Hours Exploring the World of Car Manufacturing

The factory tour lasts around two hours and begins with a brief introduction to the company and vehicle production at Toyota. Participants will then receive an initial overview of the factory through a virtual tour.

Afterwards, visitors will head directly into the production areas. During a guided tour, they can follow the various manufacturing stages and observe how modern technology, automated systems and employees work together to produce a vehicle. The visitor route covers approximately two kilometres and provides an insight into the operations of a modern car factory.
