The modernisation of Bohemians' historic Ďolíček Stadium in Prague has been given the green light. After months of waiting, the building permit has finally been issued. The first phase of construction will begin on Wednesday with work on the new south stand.
After months of preparation, Bohemians Praha 1905 has received approval for the first phase of the redevelopment of its Ďolíček Stadium. The building authority of Prague 10 issued the building permit for the new south stand along Vršovická Street today, Tuesday, 20 October 2026.
"It has been a long and challenging period, but we have achieved our goal. In the coming weeks, fans will be able to watch the new stand taking shape alongside the tram tracks," Bohemians director Darek Jakubowicz said on the club's website.
Construction Work Begins with the Foundations
The first construction machinery and necessary materials were delivered to the stadium on Tuesday. Drilling work for the foundation piles, which will support the new stand, will begin on Wednesday.

If everything goes according to plan, drilling could be completed by early November. Reinforcement cages will then be installed and the foundations filled with concrete. Around ten more days have been allocated for the concrete to cure before work on the steel structures begins.
New Stand to Take Shape Along Vršovická Street
Around three weeks after the foundation work is completed, installation of the prefabricated concrete elements is expected to begin. The first sections will be installed on the western side, near the main stand. Construction will then progress towards the junction of Sportovní and Vršovická streets.
According to the club, all the required steel structures and concrete elements have already been manufactured, treated with protective coatings and prepared for transport to the construction site. This should allow installation to proceed quickly.

Construction Work Planned Until Shortly Before Christmas
Work on the site is expected to continue for as long as possible this year. "We plan to continue building until almost Christmas. Work will pause over the holidays, but will resume at full pace in the first week of the new year," Jakubowicz explained.
Fans can also contribute to the modernisation of the historic stadium. Through the "Klokani sobě" crowdfunding campaign, supporters have the opportunity to provide financial support for the redevelopment of Ďolíček. The new south stand marks the beginning of a comprehensive renovation of the stadium in Prague-Vršovice.
