Smartwings Launches New Direct Flights from Prague to Lisbon

Czech airline Smartwings is expanding its route network with another European destination. Since Friday, passengers have been able to fly directly from Prague to Lisbon. The new service operates three times a week.

On Friday, 23 October 2026, Smartwings launched scheduled flights between Prague and the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The new route operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. According to the airline, the inaugural flight was fully booked.

“We are delighted by the strong interest in the new flight connection to Lisbon. This confirms Portugal's attractiveness as a travel destination,” said Smartwings CEO Emre Pekesen. The company intends to continue expanding its route network in the long term and offer additional direct connections within Europe and beyond.

Lisbon Is Already the Fourth Destination in Portugal

With the new connection, Smartwings has added a fourth Portuguese destination to its scheduled flight network. In addition to Lisbon, the airline also flies to Porto, Funchal on Madeira and Ponta Delgada on the Azores island of São Miguel.

A Boeing 737 with 189 seats is used on the new route. The flight time from Prague to Lisbon is approximately three hours and 40 minutes. The return flight is scheduled to take around three hours and 25 minutes.

According to Smartwings, one-way flights to Lisbon are available from CZK 2,940. The fare includes one piece of hand luggage weighing up to eight kilograms and measuring no more than 55 × 40 × 23 centimetres.

Direct Flights to Bucharest Resume at the End of November

In addition to the new connection to Portugal, Smartwings will also resume scheduled flights between Prague and the Romanian capital, Bucharest, on 26 November 2026. The route will operate four times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. According to the airline, one-way tickets to Bucharest are available from CZK 2,470, including hand luggage.

During the 2026/27 winter timetable, Smartwings will offer direct flights from Czech airports to a total of 39 destinations. The Smartwings Group also operates flights from Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.
