A key access road to Prague Airport is set for extensive renewal: from early September, Jana Kašpara Street will undergo comprehensive refurbishment. Until the end of October, travellers, commuters, and local residents should expect noticeable diversions and altered routes for public transport.
From 2 September to 21 October 2025, the city will renew the road surface of Jana Kašpara Street near Prague Airport. The construction will take place in several stages and will impact both private vehicles and public transport services.
The city council emphasises that this is not just an ordinary road repair. The modernised road surface aims to strengthen infrastructure in the long term, improve road safety, and prepare for the anticipated increase in traffic around the airport. The works are expected to bring tangible improvements, particularly for travellers and local employees.
During the first construction phase, from 2 to 9 September, the Schengenská bus stop will be relocated to ensure that bus services continue to operate smoothly despite the works. Throughout the construction period, the city will establish a temporary bus route, which will run via Schengenská and Aviatická streets and return to K Letišti Street via the turning loop at the roundabout.

Impact on Drivers
Drivers will also need to adjust: those using the P2 Express Car Park at Terminal 2 will only be able to exit via Schengenská and Aviatická streets until the works are completed. Each construction phase will feature a designated diversion route to help distribute traffic as evenly as possible.
The city notes that the schedule may be affected by weather conditions. However, the aim remains to complete the works by October and open the modernised road in time for the winter season.
For the airport site, the refurbishment is a strategically important step. The new road will not only ease the current infrastructure but also lay the foundation for future development projects. Authorities expect that both employees and passengers will benefit from safer and more comfortable travel.
