In the potential coalition of ANO, SPD and Motoristé sobě, personnel matters are not a priority for the time being. According to ANO leader Andrej Babiš, the current focus is on the programme and the coalition agreement. At the same time, he is calling on Motoristé sobě to comment on the affair surrounding Filip Turek.
The chairman of the ANO movement, Andrej Babiš, stated in a video he posted on X that discussions about the personnel composition of a potential coalition of ANO, Motoristé sobě and the SPD are not currently on the agenda. According to him, the parties are at present concentrating on the programme and the coalition agreement.
It is also unclear when, or indeed if, the President will mandate him to form a government. “The President himself has said that we should not rush. Therefore, I recommend not addressing personnel issues for the time being. It is simply not a topic at the moment,” said the ANO leader.
“We may return to personnel matters in a month or a month and a half,” Babiš said in the video. At present, the focus is primarily on substantive points and the drafting of the coalition agreement.
“We have completed the division of ministries, as well as the allocation in the Chamber of Deputies. We are now concentrating on agreeing the programme and formulating the coalition agreement,” Babiš explains.
Babiš also responded to the controversies surrounding the Motoristé sobě movement, which is under criticism due to allegedly racist and hateful statements by its honorary president and potential foreign minister Filip Turek. “Motoristé sobě must convince the public that this is not true. They reject the various accusations,” said Babiš, adding that he will act as the guarantor for the partners abroad, and therefore the future opposition need not worry about the country’s reputation.
