From January 2026, the fees for using motorways in the Czech Republic will increase. Short-term vignettes will also be adjusted accordingly.
From January 2026, the fees for using Czech motorways will rise. The annual fee will increase by 130 CZK to 2,570 CZK. The electronic monthly vignette will cost 480 CZK, the ten-day vignette 300 CZK, and the daily vignette 230 CZK.
Since 1 January 2025, the price of the motorway vignette has been set automatically: the basis is inflation up to June of the previous year, combined with the annual growth of motorway kilometres. Both values are added together, and the result is applied to the previous year’s vignette price. The final sum is rounded down to the nearest ten crowns. Based on the annual price, the prices for monthly, ten-day, and daily vignettes are then derived.
Discounts for low-emission vehicles still apply: natural gas vehicles (CNG and LNG, not LPG) pay half, plug-in hybrids with a maximum of 50 g CO₂/km pay a quarter of the regular price, and electric and hydrogen vehicles travel free of charge. This regulation applies automatically to all vehicles registered in the Czech Republic; foreign vehicles must apply for an exemption.
Vehicles transporting people with disabilities (ZTP or ZTP/P) are also exempt from the fee, provided the vehicle is driven by the affected person themselves or by a close relative. Vehicles transporting underage patients being treated for malignant tumours or haematological diseases are also exempt.
All revenue from vignettes goes directly into the construction and maintenance of motorways. Following the price increase, additional revenue of around one billion crowns is expected for 2026 – meaning roughly 9 billion crowns will be available for the expansion and upkeep of further motorway kilometres.
