With the new timetable for 2026, Czech Railways (České dráhy, ČD) is prioritising growth and quality. New direct services, enhanced comfort, and additional offerings aim to significantly improve rail travel.
From 14 December, ČD will substantially expand its services. Travelers can look forward to new direct routes, more modern trains both domestically and abroad, and additional concessions. For the first time, ČD trains will run to southern Austria, and from May 2026 even to Copenhagen.
“We want to offer our customers an even more comfortable and high-quality travel experience next year,” says Michal Krapinec, Chairman and CEO of České dráhy. Long-distance services will particularly benefit from the increased deployment of new ComfortJet trains. On the Prague–Brno route, 14 ComfortJet and 16 Railjet trains will operate daily.

Regional services will also see improvements. New RegioFox multiple units will replace older diesel trains on several lines, for example between Hradec Králové and Letohrad, or Prague and Mělník and Mladá Boleslav. Service frequency will also increase on key routes, with new InterCity connections added on the Prague–České Budějovice line.
New International Direct Routes
In partnership with foreign operators, ČD is further expanding its European network. From December, ComfortJet trains will run to Villach in Carinthia, Austria. From May, a direct train service from Prague to Copenhagen will return after more than ten years. Hamburg will also see more frequent connections.

Night train passengers have news too: the new EuroNight “Carpatia” links Bohumín with Przemyśl (Poland), with direct carriages to Munich, Vienna, Prague, and Budapest. The popular “Baltic Express” to Gdańsk, Gdynia, and Sopot will also feature a Czech dining carriage throughout its journey.
Enhancements for Everyday Travel
The modernisation programme will make 85% of all services accessible to passengers with reduced mobility. Around 500 additional trains will offer power outlets and USB ports for charging devices, and Wi-Fi will become available on an increasing number of services. Bicycles can still be taken on all ČD trains.

New Group Discounts – Cheaper Travel Than Ever
The new ČD DNY 25% offer targets small groups of two to five people. When purchasing online, all passengers in the group receive a 25% discount on each ticket. Savings are displayed directly when searching for connections. The offer is ideal for weekend trips with friends or colleagues travelling for business and applies to both first and second class.
In total, the 2025/2026 timetable includes 8,723 passenger train services. The blue ČD trains cover an average of 327,000 kilometres daily – roughly the equivalent of circling the Earth eight times.
