    “Day of the Butchers” at Holešovická Tržnice at the end of November

    On the first Sunday of Advent, visitors in Holešovice can look forward to a wide range of meat specialities

    The Day of the Butchers: For the first time, this popular food event will take place at Holešovická Tržnice. On the first Sunday of Advent, visitors can expect selected meat specialities from leading Czech butchers, along with an atmospheric accompanying programme that fits perfectly with the start of Prague’s Advent season.

    The Day of the Butchers (Den řezníků) is being held for the first time at Holešovická Tržnice. On the first Sunday of Advent, 30 November, visitors will be welcomed from 11 a.m. with a wide selection of meat specialities – prepared by leading Czech butchers and restaurants connected through the Ambiente concept Naše maso. The move to this location is no coincidence: new establishments of the Ambiente group are currently being created in the market hall, making the area one of Prague’s most exciting culinary centres.

    Anyone spending their Sunday in the market hall can also combine the culinary programme with a stroll through the Christmas markets. There, handcrafted gift ideas, traditional treats and a festive pre-Christmas atmosphere await.

    Fine meat cuisine and lively market atmosphere

    Right next to Hall 27, renowned butchers will present pop-up stands offering specially curated dishes. Participants include:

    • Naše maso: Prague ham, steak sandwich, soup
    • Kantýna: aged tartare, goulash soup, baguette with pulled beef, breaded beef tripe
    • Čestr: roast beef with Périgord sauce, boiled pork belly with dill sauce, marinated carp, pickled vegetable
    • U Kalendů: pork cheeks “Segedín”, pork snout with horseradish, veal tripe Andula, sweet buns with vanilla sauce
    • 420: veal sausages Prdelačka, duck blood and liver sausage, hunter’s salami in a mini roll
    • Big Smokers: Přeštík pork ribs and pork belly, Louisiana boudin sausage
    • Řeznictví Branická: mini jitrnice with cabbage, pork knuckle with coleslaw

    The Day of the Butchers is part of the wider Advent programme at Holešovická Tržnice, running from 27 November to 22 December. Next to Hall 22, Christmas stalls will offer arts and crafts, specialities and original gift ideas – with a changing assortment that always brings something new.
