Air Arabia launches new daily Sharjah–Prague connection

The new route will be served year-round using an Airbus A320 with 174 seats

Air Arabia has introduced a new daily air link between Sharjah and Prague. With the new non-stop service from Sharjah, Air Arabia is enhancing connectivity for business and leisure travellers alike.

Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest budget carrier operator, has launched its new daily non-stop flight connecting Sharjah International Airport and Václav Havel Airport Prague. The new route, operated using Air Arabia’s Airbus A320neo aircraft, offers passengers an affordable connection while supporting business, leisure and cultural travel between the UAE and the Czech Republic.

“We are delighted that we have succeeded in strengthening our connection with the Middle East region by adding another, now the eighth, carrier. Air Arabia is returning with the Sharjah route to our airport after five years. We are pleased that this service will be restored with the start of the winter flight schedule, giving passengers more options to travel not only to the Middle East but also to connecting destinations such as East Africa, India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Thailand or Kuala Lumpur,” said Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Prague Airport.

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said: “We are delighted to commence our daily non-stop flights to Prague, a key European destination that reflects the growing demand for accessible and reliable air travel from the UAE. This route reflects our commitment to expanding our European network from Sharjah while supporting the growth of tourism, business and cultural exchange between both countries.”

With around 1.6 million inhabitants, Sharjah is the third largest city in the United Arab Emirates and is considered the cultural centre of the country. The city offers numerous museums, historic districts and a picturesque waterfront promenade along the Persian Gulf. In contrast to neighbouring Dubai, Sharjah is more tradition-conscious – alcohol, for example, is completely prohibited there.

The new daily service complements Air Arabia’s European network from Sharjah, which includes destinations such as Vienna, Athens, Milan Bergamo, Kraków, Warsaw Chopin and Warsaw Modlin, providing travellers with an increasingly wide choice of direct flights.

Air Arabia operates a modern fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, the world’s best-selling single-aisle aircraft. The airline offers a value-added onboard experience with ‘SkyTime’, its complimentary in-flight streaming service, and ‘SkyCafe’, its onboard menu. Passengers can also benefit from ‘Air Rewards’, the most generous loyalty programme in the region.
