The final days of the holiday season traditionally draw many visitors to Prague Zoo. As part of the celebrations, visitors can enjoy discounted admission for just one crown for children up to the age of 15. From Friday to Sunday, the zoo will host family games across the grounds, with a quiz trail starting on the terrace of the Education Centre near the main entrance.
Throughout the weekend, special performances of the puppet theatre show “Hurvinek and the Uninvited Guest” will be held at 10:30 and 14:00 in the Education Centre. Please note that a separate ticket is required for these performances, which is not included in zoo admission and is valid for audiences aged 6 and over.
On Sunday, 1 September, Prague Zoo will celebrate International Primate Day. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about creatures most similar to us, from tiny prosimians to great apes. The educational and entertaining “Primates of the World” station on Monkey Islands will feature special feedings and encounters, following this schedule:
10:15 am: Feeding of the northern talapoins – Dja Reserve
10:30 am: Feeding of the male lowland gorillas – Méfou Centre

This year has been exceptional for Prague Zoo, with several unique new arrivals: two young gorillas, Mobi and Gaia, the orangutan baby Harapan, and the little giraffe Johanka. Noteworthy additions also include Connie, the second manatee born in Europe, and Mersey, the first Czech-born wombat. Another exciting feature this year is the new Gobi exhibit, showcasing Przewalski’s horses, manuls, and other Central Asian animals. The zoo has also successfully bred new species, such as the popular Madagascar fossa.
For the last time this year, summer opening hours will apply on Saturday, 31 August, and Sunday, 1 September. The gates of Prague Zoo will close at 19:00.
