The 2026 timetable for Czech Railways brings enhanced comfort, modernised trains, and additional services both within the Czech Republic and abroad. Passengers can expect accessible trains, onboard Wi-Fi, and new direct routes.

From Sunday, 14 December, the new 2026 timetable of Czech Railways (České dráhy, ČD) comes into force. The company is introducing more modern, accessible trains and new connections across the country and to international destinations.

“Czech Railways will maintain its position as the country’s leading and most modern railway operator in 2026,” says Michal Krapinec, Chairman of the Board and CEO of ČD. “We are renewing our fleet and offering passengers an even better service. Eighty-five per cent of all services will be accessible, and we are increasing the number of trains with Wi-Fi, power sockets, and onboard catering.”

The new timetable sees 38 modern multiple units from the ComfortJet, Railjet, InterJet, and Pendolino series entering service. This increases the number of connections under the international premium brand Railjet to 51 – 30 more than previously.

Modernised carriages are also being deployed on domestic routes, freed up from international services. Overall comfort on board is being improved: more accessible trains, air-conditioned carriages, Wi-Fi, power and USB sockets, onboard portals, children’s cinema, and facilities for bicycles are all being introduced. The number of carriages with onboard restaurants or bistros will also increase.

Better Links to Europe

International comfort: ComfortJet trains will now run three times daily to Villach in Austria, close to the borders with Slovenia and Italy. From May 2026, a direct connection from Prague to Copenhagen will return after more than ten years. Additional services to Hamburg are also planned.

Night services to the east are being expanded: a direct night train from Prague to Przemyśl will begin on 14 December. Connections to Slovakia are also improving: the new Prague – Olomouc – Bratislava line offers direct and faster journeys. Another addition is the EuroCity “Prater” on the Krakow – Vienna route, increasing the number of direct services from Ostrava to Krakow to five and to Vienna to six.

New Regional Services

Commuters and students in regional areas will also benefit: in Central Bohemia and the Hradec Králové region, new accessible RegioFox multiple units will operate, for example on routes from Hradec Králové to Letohrad and from Prague to Mělník and Mladá Boleslav. In Pardubice, the operation of electric RegioPanter units between Kolín, Pardubice, and Česká Třebová will be extended.

New Group Discounts – Cheaper Travel Than Ever

The new ČD DNY 25% offer targets small groups of two to five people. When purchasing online, all passengers in the group receive a 25% discount on each ticket. Savings are displayed directly when searching for connections. The offer is ideal for weekend trips with friends or colleagues travelling for business and applies to both first and second class.

According to ČD, a total of 8,723 different trains will run next year, averaging 6,552 services per day. Over the timetable period, trains will cover almost 119 million kilometres – around 327,000 kilometres per day, roughly equivalent to eight times around the world daily.

With the new timetable, ČD is focusing on greater comfort, better connections, and modernised trains – both domestically and on international routes.
