Prague is consolidating its reputation as a culinary hub in the Czech Republic: several restaurants were awarded Michelin stars in 2025. For the first time, a dedicated Michelin Guide for the Czech Republic was also published, showcasing top regional establishments.
Shortly before the end of 2025, the highest awards in gastronomy were traditionally conferred: the coveted Michelin stars. This year, several Czech restaurants joined this exclusive circle, once again confirming Prague’s status as a culinary centre. At the same time, Czech gastronomy marked another milestone: for the first time, a dedicated Michelin Guide for the Czech Republic recognised top regional establishments across various categories, creating a carefully curated culinary map.
The country’s first restaurant to receive two Michelin stars is Papilio in Vysoký Újezd, just around 20 minutes from Prague.

A further eight restaurants in the Czech Republic were awarded one star each, five of which are located directly in the capital:
Casa De Carli
Levitate
Štangl
La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise
Field
Levitate impressed the anonymous Michelin inspectors not only with its combination of Nordic preparations and Asian spices, but also with its exceptional interior and convenient location near Riegrovy Sady. La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise once again stood out with its open kitchen and attentive service, holding its star since 2012.

Casa De Carli, a family-run establishment by Italian chef Matteo De Carli and his wife Lenka Hermanová, delights with authentic dishes from the chef’s homeland, prepared in front of guests in the open kitchen. This is complemented by an impressive selection of handmade pasta and Italian wines.
Particularly noteworthy is Štangl: in addition to the classic red star for its modern cuisine, the restaurant also received a green star for its outstanding commitment to sustainability. The Michelin Service Award for exceptional service went to Miroslav Nosek of Field.

The official Michelin Selected Guide also recommends establishments that have not yet earned a star but are definitely worth a visit. In Prague, this includes Restaurant 420 by Michelin-starred chef Radek Kašpárek or Café Imperial by Zdeněk Pohlreich. On the banks of the Vltava, the CottoCrudo restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel offers views of Prague Castle in summer, while Restaurant Mlýnec provides one of the best perspectives of Charles Bridge. Not far away is the newly redesigned V Zátiší, a restaurant of the popular Zátiší Group.
Another interesting category is the Bib Gourmand, in which Michelin recognises restaurants offering high-quality cuisine at moderate prices. Seven further Prague restaurants, including Výčep, Dejvická 34 and U Matěje, made this list.

A new development is that Michelin is no longer limited to stars in gastronomy: for the first time, luxury hotels worldwide were recognised – not with stars, but with Michelin Keys. In the Czech Republic, a total of eleven hotels received this distinction, most of them in Prague. Following its reopening, the Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel became the only hotel in the Czech Republic to receive two keys.
It is impressively clear what level Czech gastronomy can achieve with regional ingredients. The number of establishments offering excellent service, top-class cuisine and high quality, capable of impressing even Michelin inspectors, is expected to continue rising.
