More awarded restaurants, new honours for top chefs, and a hotel guide for the first time: Gault&Millau has unveiled its 2026 edition for the Czech Republic. In total, 421 restaurants were evaluated and awarded the coveted toques.
Following the release of the new and first Michelin Guide for the whole of the Czech Republic and the Czech Golden Lions 2026 (Zlatí Lvi), the international restaurant guide Gault&Millau has now also awarded its distinctions and presented its new Czech edition. More restaurants were recognised than in the previous year, there were new honours for outstanding personalities in gastronomy, and a dedicated hotel guide premiered: on Monday, 26 January, the new 2026 edition was unveiled at the National House in Vinohrady (Národní dům na Vinohradech), Prague – accompanied by several content innovations.
The second edition of the Gault&Millau guide for the Czech Republic includes a total of 421 evaluated restaurants. 334 establishments achieved at least 11 out of 20 points and were thus awarded the renowned chef’s toque. In addition, inspectors included 146 establishments in the POP category. These venues are not scored individually but are considered particularly recommendable addresses.

As in the previous year, the highest award of five toques remained unattained. However, three restaurants received four toques: alongside the previous leader, Restaurant Papilio, newly recognised were LEVITATE and Restaurant La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise.
Seventeen restaurants were awarded three toques, including Field Restaurant, La Finestra in Cucina, Mlýnec, Zlatá Praha, 420 Restaurant, and Terasa U Zlaté studně.
“Our inspectors last year not only re-evaluated the already listed establishments but also visited numerous new restaurants. The figures, and in particular the growth in the top scoring segment, clearly show that Czech gastronomy has much to offer guests from both home and abroad,” explained Miroslav Lekeš, chief inspector of Gault&Millau for the Czech Republic and CEO for Central and Southern Europe.

New Hotel Guide ‘Stay & Dine’
Alongside the classic restaurant guide, Gault&Millau presented for the first time the new hotel guide Stay & Dine. The “blue” publication lists 176 hotels that, in addition to high-quality accommodation, also feature a restaurant rated with at least 10 points by the inspectors. The aim is to emphasise the importance of hotel restaurants, which have so far often been underestimated in the Czech market.
The French gastronomy guide Gault&Millau, founded in the 1960s by journalists Henri Gault and Christian Millau, is now present in around 20 countries and is regarded as one of the most influential rating systems in international fine dining.
