The MAKRO Czech Gastro Fest 2026 brings together the very best of Czech gastronomy. From 10 to 11 April at the O2 Universum Prague, top chefs will present innovative ideas, new trends, and inspiration for both professionals and enthusiasts alike.

Zdeněk Pohlreich, Kristína Nemčková, Martin Štangl, and Martin Vogeltanz – they are all among the prominent faces of the MAKRO Czech Gastro Fest 2026, the largest gastronomic event in the Czech Republic. The festival unites top chefs, restaurateurs, and emerging talents, offering inspiration as well as opportunities for professional development.

The MAKRO Czech Gastro Fest is not only a food festival for the general public but primarily a central platform for the entire gastronomy sector. Here, chefs, restaurant owners, hoteliers, bartenders, sommeliers, suppliers, and students meet to exchange experiences, know-how, and new approaches that advance Czech gastronomy. This year’s motto is “Freshness” – whether in ingredients, ideas, or the energy the sector needs.

The two-day event takes place on 10 and 11 April at the O2 Universum. The main ambassadors remain Zdeněk Pohlreich and Karel “Kovy” Kovář, with the addition of regional gastronomy advocate and MAKRO FORUM ambassador Lukáš Hejlík. The programme will be hosted by Markéta Hrubešová and Pavel Cejnar.

A focus of this year’s festival is the MICHELIN Guide 2026. On stage, Martin Štangl will present, whose eponymous restaurant in Prague has held a Michelin star since December. Other top chefs, such as Kristína Nemčková, who shares experiences from international top restaurants in her cooking show, Petr Heneš from the Olomouc restaurant Long Story Short, and the well-known chef and influencer Chilli Ta, will entertain the audience. Marek Raditsch will cook together with his daughter, and Dominik Unčovský, head chef of the Makro Academy and two-time national Bocuse d’Or winner, will demonstrate his skills.

In addition to outstanding gastronomy, the festival will feature a patisserie show by Iveta Fabešová. The sweet finale will be a signature dessert created in collaboration with Barbora Tománková, head patissière at Café Imperial DOLCE. A signature drink will also be served, prepared by the newly crowned world champion of mixology, Martin Vogeltanz.

“The MAKRO Czech Gastro Fest is the place where Czech gastronomy looks forward. This year, we are focusing on freshness. Our goal is to provide practically applicable inspiration – from working with fresh ingredients and efficient kitchen solutions to sharing know-how among industry leaders. Gastronomy is in our blood, and that should be felt at the festival – on every plate and in every discussion,” said Jiří Nehasil, president of the festival and general director of Makro ČR.
