After years of waiting, HC Dynamo Pardubice is back at the top of Czech ice hockey. With a dramatic overtime victory against Třinec, the team secured its first championship title in 14 years.
After losing two consecutive final series, HC Dynamo Pardubice has won the long-awaited championship title in the Czech Tipsport Extraliga. The team defeated HC Oceláři Třinec 5–4 after overtime in the sixth final match away from home and won the series 4–2.
Roman Červenka scored the decisive goal just 57 seconds into overtime. With the victory, Pardubice celebrates the seventh championship title in the club’s history and the first since 2012.

For Dynamo, it is also the fourth medal in a row: after bronze in 2023 and runner-up finishes in the previous two seasons, the club has now achieved the long-awaited triumph. Třinec, meanwhile, lost an Extraliga final for the first time since the 2017/2018 season.
Pardubice had already dominated the regular season and thus became the first team since Liberec in 2016 to win both the regular season and the Czech championship title. Coincidentally, Liberec was coached at the time by current Pardubice coach Filip Pešán.
For Třinec, this marks the end of an extremely successful era. The Oceláři reached seven of the past eight completed Extraliga finals and suffered defeat only for the second time during that run.
Pardubice impressed throughout the play-offs with strong performances against several top teams. In the quarter-finals, Dynamo eliminated defending champions Kometa Brno, followed by Sparta Prague in the semi-finals, before also overcoming Třinec in the final.
In addition to the championship title, Pardubice, together with Plzeň and Liberec, also secured qualification for the upcoming Champions Hockey League season.
