AC Sparta Praha is planning the construction of a new modern football campus in the Prague district of Krč, featuring a stadium, training pitches and extensive infrastructure. The facility is primarily intended for use by the club’s second team, women’s team and youth academy.

AC Sparta Praha is planning to build a new modern football complex in Prague’s Krč district. A stadium meeting UEFA criteria and with a capacity of up to 5,000 spectators is to be constructed in Pálkařská Street. The facility will mainly be used by the club’s second team and women’s first team, while also serving as a new training centre for the youth academy.

In addition to the stadium, the plans include two training pitches as well as administrative and sports facilities. The project is being financed by the club’s owners. According to Sparta, purchase agreements for the required land have already been signed and planning work is currently under way.

The project has already been approved by the Prague 4 district administration. The new football campus is set to be built in close proximity to the Jižní spojka on grounds historically linked to Sparta Krč.

The project also includes extensive infrastructure improvements around the site. Planned measures include a new bridge over the Kunratický potok (Kunratický Stream), additional pedestrian crossings, wider pavements, cycle paths and further adjustments to Pálkařská Street.

“The construction of modern football infrastructure primarily intended for young Sparta players is a key element for the sustainable future of our club,” Sparta vice-president František Čupr said. He also stressed that the facility could in future be used by women’s and girls’ national teams as well as junior representative squads.

Prague 4 has also welcomed the project. Mayor Ondřej Kubín (ODS) described Sparta as a “European brand” and sees the new stadium as an important contribution to the development of sport and the revitalisation of the currently partly unused area along the Jižní spojka.

The new sports complex will be built between the districts of Krč and Braník and forms part of a larger planned revitalisation of the entire valley along the Kunratický potok. In addition to existing sports facilities, new leisure and sports areas are also planned for the area.

According to the club, a comprehensive volume study has now been completed. Alongside the stadium and training pitches, this also includes parking areas and the planned infrastructure adjustments. Sparta and Prague 4 said they will continue to provide updates on the next steps of the project.
