As temperatures rise, Prague’s outdoor swimming season is getting underway. The popular Petynka outdoor swimming pool already opened last Friday despite ongoing construction work on a new indoor swimming hall. Džbán Park at the Džbán natural swimming area has also reopened, offering visitors leisure and water sports activities.

The outdoor swimming season in Prague has begun: the popular Petynka outdoor swimming pool in Prague 6 reopened last Friday, 15 May. Despite ongoing construction work on a new indoor swimming hall, the outdoor area remains in operation, although with reduced capacity.

Visitors can continue to use the swimming pool and water slide without restrictions. Newly installed wider stainless steel steps also provide easier and safer access to the water. New non-slip flooring has also been laid in the changing areas.

Due to the construction work, the maximum capacity of the complex has been reduced from 1,600 to 1,300 people. The beach volleyball courts, table tennis areas and children’s quad bikes will not be available this season. The number of parking spaces has also been limited to 100 vehicles. Operators therefore recommend travelling by public transport.

Admission prices remain unchanged: adults pay 250 crowns for a day ticket, while children, students and seniors pay 150 crowns. After 3 pm, a reduced tariff of around one third less applies. In May, the Petynka outdoor swimming pool is open daily from 8 am to 7 pm.

Džbán Park at the Džbán natural swimming area has also reopened for the new season. Visitors can enjoy a small bathing pier, food and drink facilities, a skate ramp, paddleboard hire, wakeboarding activities and an open-air whirlpool zone. Opening hours during the week are from 12 pm to 8 pm, while at weekends the area opens from 10 am. Admission costs 20 crowns and can also be used as a voucher for food and drinks.
