With the new Epiq, Škoda is launching its most affordable electric SUV to date while consistently implementing the brand’s new “Modern Solid” design language. The world premiere of the compact crossover took place during the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship in Zurich.

Škoda officially unveiled the new electric crossover Epiq on Tuesday. The world premiere took place in Zurich as part of the IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. With the new model, the brand is not only bringing its most affordable electric SUV to market so far, but is also consistently introducing numerous technical innovations alongside the “Modern Solid” design language.

The new Epiq plays a central role for the Czech carmaker. The compact SUV crossover model is intended to make electric mobility accessible to a significantly wider customer base. Group CEO Klaus Zellmer described the Epiq during the presentation as a “typical Škoda” – compact, practical and suitable for everyday use.

Visually, the Epiq adopts all elements of the new “Modern Solid” design. A defining feature is the glossy “Tech-Deck Face” front section, framed by T-shaped LED headlights. The lighting signature is set to become an even stronger recognisable feature of the brand in the future.

The rear also incorporates the new T-shaped lighting design. Overall, Škoda is focusing on clean lines, distinctive details and a robust SUV appearance. At the same time, considerable emphasis has been placed on aerodynamics. Features contributing to this include active cooling-air flaps, newly designed wheels, air-curtain ducts and a completely smooth underbody.

Inside, the Epiq also follows a minimalist approach. Despite its compact exterior dimensions, Škoda promises generous interior space. Boot capacity reaches up to 475 litres, making it one of the largest in its segment.

Customers can choose between several trim lines. In addition to the more understated “Studio Design Selection” variant, Škoda is also offering the “Loft Grey”, “Loft Mint” and the more premium “Suite Design Selection” featuring special materials and three-dimensional seat patterns. The Loft and Suite variants come with ambient lighting as standard.

Technically, the Epiq is based on the new MEB+ platform, which uses front-wheel drive and is combined with new battery generations. Thanks to the revised drivetrain construction, rear disc brakes are returning to Škoda electric models. Previous Enyaq and Elroq models used drum brakes at the rear.

The new Epiq will be offered in three power outputs with 85, 99 and 155 kW. The two smaller variants receive a 38.5-kWh battery and are expected to offer a range of around 310 kilometres. The top model features a 55-kWh battery and achieves a range of up to 440 kilometres according to the manufacturer. Fast charging is expected to enable charging from 10 to 80 per cent in around 24 minutes.

Another key new feature is bidirectional charging. This will allow the Epiq in future to supply electricity to electrical devices or households and, in the longer term, also to be integrated into energy systems.

With the new Epiq, Škoda is expanding its electric portfolio with a compact SUV model designed above all to combine everyday practicality, modern technology and a comparatively affordable entry-level price.
