American Airlines resumes direct flights between Prague and Philadelphia after six years

After a break of more than six years, American Airlines is returning with a direct connection between Prague and Philadelphia. The daily route is expected not only to strengthen links to the US East Coast, but also to offer numerous onward connections across North America.

American Airlines is resuming direct scheduled services between Prague and Philadelphia on Thursday. The connection had been suspended during the coronavirus pandemic and is now being restored for the first time in more than six years. The first aircraft will depart from the United States on Thursday evening and land in Prague on Friday morning.

Alongside the existing direct Delta connection to New York, this will become the second non-stop route between Prague and the United States.

The route will be operated using a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner. The flight from Prague to the United States takes just under nine hours, while the return journey lasts slightly more than eight hours. According to the flight schedule, aircraft will depart Prague daily at 10:15 and arrive in Philadelphia at 13:05 local time. In the opposite direction, flights will leave Philadelphia at 18:05 and arrive in Prague the following morning at 08:15.

The new connection will also provide passengers with quick access to one of American Airlines’ most important hubs on the US East Coast. Philadelphia International Airport offers numerous onward connections to more than 100 destinations across North America.
