
Czech Republic to Face Finland in World Championship Quarter-Finals – Match to Be Played in Zurich on Thursday
Following the defeat against Canada, the Czech national team must change venues for the quarter-finals

The Czech ice hockey national team has reached the quarter-finals of the Ice Hockey World Championship, where it will face Finland. Following the conclusion of the group stage, the exact schedule for the knockout round has now also been confirmed.
The Czech Republic lost 3–2 to Canada in its final group-stage match, missing the chance to remain in Fribourg. Although the team held a two-goal lead at one stage, it was unable to defend its advantage against the favourites. Following the defeat, as well as Switzerland’s 4–2 victory over Finland, it has now been confirmed that the Czech team must travel to Zurich for the quarter-finals. The Czech Republic finished the group stage in third place in Group B behind Canada and Norway.
The clash against Finland will face off at 16:20 on Thursday in Zurich. The team will travel to Switzerland’s largest city on Wednesday.
With the conclusion of the group stage, all quarter-final fixtures of the World Championship have also been confirmed. Alongside the match between Finland and the Czech Republic, Canada will face the United States, Switzerland will take on Sweden, and Norway will play Latvia.
The winners of the four quarter-finals will qualify for the semi-finals, which will be played on Saturday. The medal matches will follow on Sunday. All matches of the final round will take place in Zurich.
