Prague 1 has launched a new project to support foreigners. Through an intercultural contact person at the district office, the initiative aims to simplify communication with authorities and help overcome language and cultural barriers.
The project, “Intercultural Worker of the Prague 1 Municipal District Office”, is being implemented with financial support from the Czech Ministry of the Interior. It is primarily intended for holders of temporary protection status as well as other foreigners who face difficulties navigating the Czech administrative system.
Since 1 June 2026, Bc. Miroslav Brož has been available as an intercultural worker directly at the Prague 1 district office, providing advice and assistance. He helps with communication with authorities, explains administrative procedures and assists people in navigating the various departments of the office.
According to Prague 1, the project is intended to improve foreigners’ access to public services, prevent misunderstandings and make administrative processes more efficient. The intercultural worker can also help connect clients with other institutions and organisations when needed.
The service includes assistance with official matters and provides easier access to information about rights, obligations and available support services. By reducing communication barriers, applications and administrative procedures are expected to be processed more quickly and smoothly. The project will run until 31 December 2026.
The advisory office is located in the Prague 1 district office building on Vodičkova Street and is open to all foreigners who require assistance when dealing with public authorities.
