The Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) closed the 2025 financial year with a profit of approximately CZK 690 million. At the same time, the company recorded rising fare revenues, growing passenger numbers and record-high investment levels.
Before tax, DPP generated a profit of CZK 926.71 million last year. After accounting for deferred tax, the final annual result amounted to CZK 686.13 million. Savings on energy and fuel costs made a significant contribution to the positive result.
Revenue also developed positively. Income from ticket sales within Prague’s Integrated Transport System (PID) increased by almost CZK 177 million year-on-year to a total of CZK 5.41 billion.
Discounted travel passes were particularly popular in 2025. Revenue from discounted ten-month passes for the outer PID fare zones rose by almost 38 per cent compared with the previous year. Sales of 30-day travel passes for the outer fare zones also increased by seven per cent.
Investments of Nearly CZK 11.7 Billion
With total investments of CZK 11.682 billion, DPP reached a new record level in 2025. Compared with the previous year, this represents an increase of almost CZK 600 million.

Among the most important projects were the construction of the first section of the new Metro Line D between Pankrác and Olbrachtova, the modernisation of the Českomoravská and Pankrác metro stations, and the refurbishment of the ceiling slab above the concourse at Florenc station. In addition, the new Hloubětín tram depot was completed and the expansion of several new tram routes continued.
DPP invested nearly CZK 330 million in the modernisation of existing trams. More than CZK 1.7 billion was spent on the procurement of new trams. A further CZK 672 million was invested in the renewal of the bus fleet, including diesel buses, hybrid vehicles, electric buses and battery-powered trolleybuses.
Of the total investment volume, CZK 4.43 billion was financed through grants from the City of Prague. A further CZK 383.6 million came from European Union funding. The remaining share was financed from the company’s own resources.
Nearly One Billion Passengers in 2025
Last year, a total of 998.1 million passengers used DPP’s transport services. This represents an increase of 2.2 per cent compared with 2024.

The metro carried around 370 million passengers. Compared with the previous year, passenger numbers fell by 2.5 per cent, mainly due to the closure of the Českomoravská and Pankrác stations as part of extensive modernisation works.
Trams, by contrast, recorded a significant increase. More than 368 million passengers used the tram network, almost as many as in the previous record year of 2019. Compared with 2024, passenger numbers rose by nearly seven per cent.
Urban bus routes carried around 245 million passengers, while suburban routes transported a further five million. Both segments recorded growth of around three per cent.
