More than 48 million visits were recorded at over 1,300 tourist destinations in 2025. Alongside the country’s well-known landmarks, museums, natural attractions and regional excursion destinations are also becoming increasingly important.
Tourist attractions across the Czech Republic recorded strong visitor growth last year. According to CzechTourism, more than 48 million people visited the country’s more than 1,300 recorded tourist, leisure and cultural attractions in 2025. This continues the trend of visitors not only heading to the best-known tourist hotspots, but increasingly exploring lesser-known regions and attractions as well.
Prague Castle remains the country’s most visited attraction. More than 2.7 million people visited the historic landmark of the Czech capital last year. It was followed by Prague Zoo with nearly 1.5 million visitors and the AquaPalace Praha water park, which welcomed around 1.2 million guests.

Demand for family-friendly attractions remains consistently high. Four zoos ranked among the ten most visited attractions in the country. In addition to Prague Zoo, the zoos in Zlín, Ostrava and Plzeň were among the most popular destinations. Aquaparks, amusement parks and science centres also continue to attract large numbers of visitors.
Regions Continue to Gain Importance
While Prague remains the main gateway to the Czech Republic for many international visitors, the regions are steadily strengthening their position within the tourism sector. Popular destinations include historic towns, natural attractions, leisure facilities and cultural sites outside the capital. Particularly sought after are the Sky Bridge 721 and Loket Castle.

Historic Attractions Remain Major Draws
Castles, chateaux and religious monuments continue to rank among the country’s leading tourist attractions. Alongside Prague Castle, the most popular historic sites include Lednice Chateau, Český Krumlov Castle and Chateau, Karlštejn Castle and Hluboká Chateau. UNESCO-listed sites in Kutná Hora, including St Barbara’s Cathedral and the Sedlec area, also attracted strong visitor numbers.

Among observation towers and viewpoints, the Petřín Lookout Tower maintained its leading position. Nearly 448,000 people visited the well-known tower on Petřín Hill in Prague. Visitor numbers may receive a further boost in the future from the modernised funicular, which is expected to return to service later this year.
Overall, the latest figures show that tourism in the Czech Republic is becoming more broadly distributed. In addition to the traditional landmarks, regional excursion destinations, natural attractions and cultural institutions are increasingly benefiting from growing visitor demand.
