With a new web address, the Czech Republic is strengthening security when purchasing motorway vignettes online. The government domain gov(.)cz is intended to make the official shop clearly recognisable in the future.

The official online shop for purchasing electronic motorway vignettes in the Czech Republic is now available at the new web address edalnice.gov.cz. By moving to the unified government domain, it is intended to make it easier for users to identify the official website and avoid fraudulent providers that imitate the government shop and charge additional brokerage fees.

The change is part of the ongoing unification of digital public services under the gov(.)cz domain. According to the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure (SFDI), which manages the system, the new domain clearly indicates that users are communicating directly with a government authority. Motorists are therefore advised to always check the website address in their browser before making a purchase to ensure they are paying only the legally established price for the vignette.

The previous web address, edalnice.cz, will remain active and automatically redirect visitors to the new domain. All existing functions – including checking the validity of a vignette, managing previously purchased vignettes, and the customer support hotline – remain unchanged. Only the support email address has been updated to info@edalnice.gov.cz.

As part of the transition, the appearance of the online shop has also been slightly updated and aligned with the standard design of government digital services. However, according to the state-owned company CENDIS, which operates the system, these visual changes are not a reliable way to identify the official website. The only decisive factor is the web address edalnice.gov.cz.

The current prices for electronic motorway vignettes in the Czech Republic are as follows: the annual vignette costs CZK 2,570, the 30-day vignette CZK 480, the 10-day vignette CZK 300, and the one-day vignette CZK 230.
