Prague is set to gain a new direct connection to the Balkans at the end of the year. Wizz Air will connect the Czech capital with Sarajevo twice a week.
Wizz Air will launch a new direct service between Prague and Sarajevo on 18 December 2026. Flights are scheduled to operate every Monday and Friday, making the route suitable for weekend trips.
According to the current timetable, flights will depart from Václav Havel Airport Prague at 8.55 am on both operating days. The return flight from Sarajevo International Airport is scheduled to depart at 11 am. Both cities are in the same time zone, while the distance between them is approximately 763 kilometres as the crow flies. The direct flight is expected to take around one and a half hours.

Sarajevo Connects the Orient and Central Europe
Sarajevo is one of the most historically and culturally diverse cities in south-eastern Europe. Its historic centre is home to Baščaršija, an Ottoman-style bazaar district with small craft shops, traditional coffee houses and restaurants. Local culinary specialities include ćevapi and Bosnian coffee, which is traditionally served in a small copper pot.
Mosques, Catholic and Orthodox churches and a synagogue can all be found within a few minutes’ walk of one another – a cultural coexistence that has earned Sarajevo the nickname “Jerusalem of Europe”. Other well-known sights include the Latin Bridge, Sarajevo City Hall and the Sebilj Fountain.

Views over the city can be enjoyed from Mount Trebević, which can be reached by cable car from the city centre. The mountain is also home to the remains of the bobsleigh and luge track used during the 1984 Winter Olympics. Sarajevo is surrounded by several former Olympic mountains, offering opportunities for hiking and winter sports alongside city breaks.
