Prague is increasingly relying on digital solutions for passenger information. Energy-saving E-Ink screens are now also being used for the first time along the new tunnel bus route 145.
With the launch of the new tunnel bus route 145, passenger information along the route has also been modernised. New digital boards at a total of eight stops display current departure times and other important information.
Regional transport organiser ROPID installed the displays in cooperation with the municipal company Technologie hlavního města Prahy. At four locations, these are freestanding large-format boards: at the Hradčanská stop towards the city centre, at both stops in Okrouhlická and in Kobylisy towards the city centre.

E-Ink Technology Tested for the First Time
Digital screens using energy-saving E-Ink technology are a new addition to Prague’s public transport system. They are being tested at the Vychovatelna stop towards the city centre and at Kuchyňka in the outbound direction.
The displays provide information not only about current departure times. At the touch of a button, passengers can also switch between regular stop timetables, a local transport network map and information about the fare system.

The screens are mounted on a new single-pole bus stop sign. This new type was installed for the first time around a month ago at the Za Horou stop and is intended to become standard at less frequently used stops in Prague in the future.
Locations where installing a permanent electricity connection would not be economically viable were deliberately selected for the E-Ink technology. The particularly energy-efficient displays can therefore also be used comparatively cost-effectively at smaller stops.
