Several prominent opponents await the Czech representatives in the European competitions in the 2026/27 season. There will be particularly frequent encounters with clubs from England. But teams from Germany, Austria and Switzerland will also face the Czech clubs.
A total of four Czech clubs are in the league phases of the European competitions. Slavia Prague play in the Champions League, Sparta Prague and Viktoria Plzeň compete in the Europa League, while FK Jablonec represent the Czech Republic in the Conference League.
Arsenal and Aston Villa Come to Prague
Slavia Prague have been handed particularly attractive opponents in the Champions League. Two English Premier League clubs will visit the Czech capital: Arsenal and Aston Villa will face the Czech champions at Eden. There is also a highlight involving a German club. Slavia must travel to face Bayern Munich. Their other opponents are Villarreal and Lens at home, as well as FC Porto, Fenerbahçe and Sabah away.
The Champions League League phase runs from 8 September 2026 to 27 January 2027.
Sparta Against Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Salzburg
Sparta Prague will also face two English clubs in the Europa League. Bournemouth will come to Prague, while Sparta must travel to Crystal Palace for their second encounter with a team from England.

Sparta Prague must also travel to FC Salzburg. The club from the Mozart city are already looking forward to the match and a chance for revenge for the humiliation in Prague in the 2024/25 Champions League. Sparta’s other opponents are AZ Alkmaar, Rennes and Lillestrøm at home, as well as Olympiacos Piraeus and Ararat-Armenia away.
Viktoria Plzeň will also face an English club. The West Bohemians must travel to AFC Bournemouth. Their other opponents include Benfica Lisbon, Real Sociedad and Ferencváros.
The Europa League League phase begins on 16 and 17 September 2026 respectively and ends on 28 January 2027.
Jablonec Host Brighton and Travel to Freiburg
The Conference League also has attractive fixtures in store for FK Jablonec. The North Bohemian club will host English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion. Away from home, they will also face a German-Czech encounter at SC Freiburg. FC Lugano will also bring a representative from Switzerland to Jablonec. Their other opponents are Iberia Tbilisi at home, as well as Trabzonspor and Riga away.
Unlike the Champions League and Europa League, the Conference League league phase consists of just six matches. It will be played between 15 October and 17 December 2026.
Hradec Králové are no longer represented in European competition. The club were eliminated in the Conference League play-off after extra time, losing 4-3 on aggregate to Panathinaikos. Slavia Prague, Sparta Prague, Viktoria Plzeň and FK Jablonec therefore head into the European autumn of 2026 as the four Czech representatives.
