Slavia win 318th Prague Derby “S” at Sparta 3-0

Nowak, Šturm and Ayaosi score at Letná – Slavia remain unbeaten and take the lead in the table

Slavia laid down a marker in Prague’s traditional Derby “S” . Their convincing victory at Letná also strengthened the Red and Whites’ position at the top of the league.

Slavia Prague have won the prestigious 318th Derby "S" against Sparta on Sunday night. The Red and Whites won 3-0 at Letná and remain unbeaten in the Czech league.

Unlike in previous seasons, the two Prague “S” clubs met as early as the sixth matchday. Slavia made by far the better start and took the lead in the 11th minute. Wiktor Nowak got a shot away inside the penalty area and found the right-hand corner with precision.

After the break, the visitors extended their lead. In the 60th minute, Danijel Šturm converted a pass from David Moses to make it 2-0. In stoppage time, Emmanuel Ayaosi finally completed the 3-0 victory.

For Slavia, it was also their first league win at Letná since December 2020.

With the derby victory, Slavia lead the table unbeaten and are one point ahead of second-placed Liberec. Sparta are currently seventh and already trail their city rivals by five points.
