Pilsner Fest 2026 Returns to the Pilsner Urquell Brewery Grounds

Pilsner Urquell is celebrating the 184th anniversary of its first brew with an extensive festival programme. For six days, the brewery grounds will be transformed into a festival venue.

Pilsner Fest 2026 will once again take place on the grounds of the Pilsner brewery this year. From 5 to 10 October, visitors can look forward to a week of concerts, beer tastings, beer-pouring schools and special brewery tours. Entry to the festival grounds is free.

Following last year’s edition in the centre of Plzeň, Pilsner Fest is returning to its original location. The occasion is the 184th anniversary of the first brew of Pilsner Urquell, which was brewed on 5 October 1842.

“We are bringing Pilsner Fest back this year to where it has its roots – directly to us at the Pilsner brewery,” said Martin Petrák, Tourism Manager at Plzeňský Prazdroj. To allow as many people as possible to experience the atmosphere, the celebrations will for the first time extend over an entire week.

Large Festival Tent in the Courtyard

The centre of the festival will be a large tent for several hundred people in the brewery courtyard. The main stage will also be located there. Further programme items will take place at the Na Spilce brewery restaurant, at the Formanka summer pavilion and at other locations across the brewery grounds.

The festival will open on Monday, 5 October – exactly 184 years after the first brew of Pilsner lager beer. A joint symbolic toast is planned for 6.42 pm. Representatives of the brewery will tap an oak barrel of unfiltered beer together with guests.

An extensive programme will provide musical entertainment throughout the festival week. Highlights include performances by Cirkus Problem, Imodium, Doctor P.P., Terne Čhave, David Kraus & Gipsy Brothers and Visací zámek. The musical programme will be complemented by revival bands, pub quiz evenings, a stand-up show and DJ sets by Safari Duo.

Beer, Competitions and Beer-Pouring Schools

In addition to the concerts, competitions with prizes and beer-pouring schools are planned. Pilsner Urquell will be available on the grounds in both its classic and unfiltered versions, as well as Birell Pomelo & Grep. There will also be beers from the experimental Elektrárna brewery and various speciality beers from Prazdroj.

Entry to the festival grounds and all event areas is free throughout the entire week. However, capacity in the main tent is limited.

Visitors can therefore purchase a paid VIP Pilsner Fest Pass, valid for one person and one festival day. It guarantees access to the main tent and includes beer and other drinks from the brewery’s range, one portion of goulash and a festival glass to take home.

Special Brewery Tours

Special tours of the brewery will also be offered during Pilsner Fest. The route leads from the historic brewhouse to the brewery cellars, where the lager traditionally matures in oak barrels.

The programme includes a tasting of beer wort and a beer quiz with prizes. Participants can also sample unfiltered Pilsner lager directly from the oak barrels.
