Free Veterinary Care for Pets of Homeless People in Prague on Wendesday

Homeless people in Prague will be able to access free veterinary care for their pets in Michle on Wednesday. The service includes basic examinations, vaccinations and treatments against parasites.

People experiencing homelessness in Prague will be able to have their pets examined and vaccinated free of charge at the Noclehárna in Michle on Wednesday, 30 September 2026. The Michle night shelter will offer free veterinary care for animals belonging to homeless people from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.

The service is organised by the Prague Centre for Social Services, which has been running the regular vaccination programme for the past 15 years. Its aim is to provide basic veterinary care for dogs and other companion animals whose owners may otherwise be unable to afford treatment.

The programme will include a basic veterinary examination as well as vaccinations against rabies and infectious diseases. Deworming tablets, treatments against ticks and fleas, eye and ear drops, and vaccination certificates will also be available.

Animals will also receive treats, dry food or canned food after their treatment.

The initiative is intended both to protect public health and to ensure that animals belonging to people in financial hardship receive essential veterinary care that might otherwise be unavailable.
