When the sun sets over Prague, the museums come to life: on Saturday, Prague Museum Night once again invites visitors to take a nocturnal stroll through art, history and science. Over 50 cultural institutions will open their doors – revealing the city from its historical side.
On Saturday, 14 June 2025, Prague will once again set the stage for one of the most magical nights of the year: Prague Museum Night. Between 6 p.m. and midnight, more than 50 museums, galleries and other cultural venues will invite visitors to explore the city from unusual perspectives. At the heart of the event is the main building of the Prague City Museum in Florenc (Muzeum hlavního města Prahy) – featuring a programme that goes far beyond the classic museum experience. A special highlight: a ten-metre-high illuminated model of the Moon called Lunalón.

Following last year’s successful comeback, Museum Night 2025 returns on an even larger scale. While around 30 institutions participated in 2024, this year there will be more than 50 – including venues normally closed to the public. Entry is free or heavily discounted in many locations. “It’s a unique opportunity to experience Prague in an entirely new way,” says Ivo Macek, Director of the Prague City Museum.
Insights You Won’t Find Anywhere Else
Among the participating venues are Kunsthalle Praha, Prague City Gallery, the Municipal Library, and the Technical and Documentation Museum of Prague Energy Supply. The newly renovated Prague Planetarium also promises a memorable experience, reopening to visitors for the first time this evening after extensive modernisation.
Those with an interest in historical architecture and unusual viewpoints will find much to enjoy at Novoměstská radnice (New Town Hall). Between 7 p.m. and midnight, guests can not only view exhibitions and sculpture installations, but also climb the tower or access rooms usually off-limits to the public. Admission is free via Charles Square.
Sustainable Travel – Through the Night
Museum Night is not only a major cultural event but also a celebration of sustainable mobility. In cooperation with the municipal transport authorities, public transport services will be extended and supplemented with special routes, making it easy for visitors to travel between locations. Those who prefer cycling can use the code PMN2025 with Nextbike to enjoy two free rides of up to 30 minutes.
