This year, the Prague Exhibition Centre in Holešovice will once again host a Krampus run featuring over 150 Krampuses, along with two Perchten groups from Austria. These creatures make a powerful impression with their intricately crafted masks, cowbells, furs, chains, and fire. A single glance at them is enough to send a chill down your spine!
For centuries, the Krampuses have spread fear and dread, chasing us through the darkness and reminding us of all the sins we’ve committed throughout the year – sins for which we’re now supposed to pay dearly. But hold on; these Krampuses aren’t quite that terrifying. In fact, it’s great fun to watch them in action.
The Prague Krampus Show 2024 will feature not only Czech but also two Austrian groups. The Czech groups have prepared new costume highlights guaranteed to give you goosebumps. This devilish event, with its unique atmosphere, also includes a supporting programme with small light and fire shows. All day long, there will be a gastro zone offering a broad selection of hot drinks, devilish sausages, and other treats.
The event is divided into an afternoon “Krampus Family Show” and the evening “Krampus Night Show.”
The Family Show is aimed at children who aren’t easily scared. Don’t worry – the Krampuses are a bit gentler in this show, with child-friendly behaviour. The afternoon show is suitable for families with children aged 3 to 15 (accompanied by parents), and you can expect up to 70 Krampuses.
At the Krampus Night Show, the devils will really let their chains rattle! This show is aimed at adults and teenagers aged 15 and up. Get ready for an evening full of thrills and adrenaline. The parade is about 600 meters long and designed so that all spectators have plenty of comfort while still getting close to the Krampuses.
