With the Adriatic Express, travellers from the Czech Republic will once again be able to travel directly to the Adriatic without changing trains during summer 2026. In addition to the Croatian coastal city of Rijeka, the Slovenian port city of Koper will also be connected directly for the first time.

Together with PKP Intercity, České dráhy will once again offer direct train connections from the Czech Republic to the Adriatic during summer 2026. The Adriatic Express trains will operate from 26 June to 31 August 2026 and, in addition to the Croatian coastal city of Rijeka, will for the first time also serve the Slovenian port city of Koper.

The EN 1277 / 1276 Adriatic Express night trains are operated by PKP Intercity in cooperation with České dráhy. The Czech railway company is responsible for operations on Czech territory, including the train staff.

In the Czech Republic, the train stops in Bohumín, Ostrava hlavní nádraží, Ostrava-Svinov, Hranice na Moravě, Přerov, Otrokovice, Staré Město u Uherského Hradiště, Hodonín and Břeclav, among other stations.

The Adriatic Express runs six times a week and offers overnight connections including couchette cars. Travellers can therefore reach the sea directly without changing trains. Arrival in Rijeka is scheduled for the following morning. For Koper, a direct carriage will be attached, which will be detached from the train in Ljubljana before continuing separately onwards.

The train consists of a couchette car as well as several second-class carriages. Tickets are already available via the online shop, the “Můj vlak” mobile app and at České dráhy sales points.

With the Adriatic Express, the railway companies are building on the successful operation of the previous year and further expanding their international direct connections to the sea. In addition to the Adriatic, there are also daily direct services from Prague to the Baltic Sea – including with the Baltic Express to Poland’s Tri-City region as well as with seasonal night trains to Łeba and Hel.
