
Prague’s Holešovice Market Hall Thrives as Summer Culinary Hotspot
Fresh regional produce and culinary diversity have made the area one of Prague’s most popular meeting places

Prague’s Holešovice Market Hall continues to attract large numbers of visitors during the summer months. Alongside fresh products from regional producers in Hall 22, street food, restaurants and gastronomic concepts make the complex an all-day destination.
The summer months bring particularly vibrant activity to the Holešovice Market Hall in Prague. Visitors come not only for the fresh produce available in the historic Hall 22, but increasingly also for the diverse gastronomic offering. The combination of a farmers’ market, regional products, street food and restaurants has transformed the former industrial complex into an important hub of Prague’s culinary scene in recent years.
Hall 22 Showcases the Best Seasonal Produce
Following its return to modernised premises, Hall 22 is currently at its best. Stalls offer fresh strawberries, herbs, salads, seedlings, as well as seasonal fruit and vegetables directly from regional producers. At the same time, the number of vendors continues to grow, steadily expanding the range of regional specialities available.
The atmosphere is reminiscent of well-known market halls in other European cities. In addition to regular customers, chefs from renowned Prague restaurants also shop here, valuing both the fresh ingredients and direct contact with producers. Many of the products sold here later find their way onto the menus of high-end restaurants.

High-Quality Meat Directly from Producers
Meat and sausage products are an important part of Hall 22’s offering. Among the well-known vendors is David Morávek, who sells organic pasture-raised beef. Traditional sausages produced according to Karel Kvarda’s own recipes are also highly sought after.
Farm Napipi offers poultry from welfare-friendly farming as well as free-range eggs. Depending on the season, the selection also includes duck, chicken and goose meat. The range is complemented by veal, lamb and other meats from smaller family-run farms. Visitors can also find pâtés, broths, cracklings and seasonal specialities that vary throughout the year.
International Specialities Complement the Offering
Although Hall 22 is best known for its regional products, visitors can also find a wide range of international specialities. Vendors offer jams, caviar, sea fish, Dutch cheeses, Bulgarian food products and fermented products such as kimchi.
Slovak cheese specialities and products from Uzbekistan are also particularly popular. The selection is further complemented by honey from beekeeper Daniel Prokeš from Domažlice, whose products are among the market hall’s most sought-after items.

From Farmers’ Market to Evening Entertainment
While mornings are primarily dedicated to market trading, Holešovice Market Hall increasingly transforms into a gastronomic centre during the afternoon and evening. Visitors can spend the entire day here – from breakfast and lunch to dinner or drinks with friends.
The gastronomic offering includes concepts from the Ambiente Group, such as the Myšák confectionery, Naše maso and the Slovak restaurant Skô. The well-known restaurant SaSaZu and its new street food concept Yuzu are also represented.
The Food Truck Point located close to Hall 22 also plays an important role. Particularly during the summer months, this area becomes a central meeting point for visitors and forms the heart of the open-air culinary scene.
