The modernisation of the signalling system will result in a partial one-week closure of Prague's Metro Line C at the beginning of July. The affected section runs between Nádraží Holešovice and Pražského povstání.

Prague Public Transit Company (DPP) will suspend Metro Line C services between Nádraží Holešovice and Pražského povstání from Saturday, 4 July, to Friday, 10 July 2026. The closure is necessary to allow the modernisation of the signalling and safety systems. Replacement bus services will operate along the affected section throughout the closure.

As a replacement, DPP will introduce the XC bus service. It will connect the stations Nádraží Holešovice, Vltavská, Florenc, Hlavní nádraží, Muzeum, I. P. Pavlova, Vyšehrad and Pražského povstání.

In addition to the replacement bus service, several other changes will affect public transport. Tram line 2 will be extended to Vozovna Pankrác during the works and will also serve the stops Pražského povstání and Kotorská.

Several bus stops will also be temporarily relocated. The affected stops include Pražského povstání, Nádraží Holešovice and I. P. Pavlova. The Kateřinská stop on bus line 148 towards I. P. Pavlova will be suspended for the duration of the works.

DPP advises passengers to allow extra time for their journeys and to check the revised transport connections before travelling. Longer journey times are expected, particularly on the replacement bus services, due to increased traffic levels.
