30 Years in Prague: Indian Jewel Among the City’s Best-Known Indian Restaurants

For three decades, Indian Jewel has been serving authentic Indian cuisine in the heart of Prague. Today, the family-run restaurant is regarded as one of the Czech capital's best-known and highest Google-rated destinations for Indian food.

“Like many other restaurants, the COVID-19 pandemic was not an easy time for us,” Sanjeev Wadehra told Prague Daily News. “But we are happy that we found our new location, and it has now become our home.”

His wife, Mohini, says that many of their employees have been part of the team for many years – “like one big family”.

“For us, this family atmosphere in our ‘home’ is a key part of our success. Many guests have been visiting Indian Jewel regularly for years. Over time, many loyal customers have also become friends,” say Sanjeev and Mohini Wadehra.

Classics of Indian Cuisine: Butter Chicken, Tikka Masala and Fresh Naan

The menu features classic North Indian dishes alongside specialities prepared in the traditional tandoor clay oven. Among the most popular dishes are Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, a variety of biryanis, and freshly baked naan bread. The restaurant also offers a wide selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes, as well as Indian beers, wines and traditional beverages.
