The new state agency CzechBusiness will bring together business support services in the Czech Republic from August. Companies will in future have a single point of contact for innovation, investment, exports and international expansion.
With the establishment of the new state agency CzechBusiness, the Czech government aims to reorganise support for businesses. From 1 August 2026, the existing responsibilities of the agencies CzechTrade and CzechInvest will be gradually brought together under one roof. The aim is to provide companies with a single point of contact for innovation, investment, exports and international expansion. The full integration of all responsibilities is due to be completed by 1 January 2027.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, CzechBusiness will simplify access to government support programmes and make cooperation between businesses and public authorities more efficient. The new agency is aimed at established companies as well as start-ups and investors.
"The Czech economy is changing, and businesses today expect the state to be a partner that offers a clear and efficient support system," said Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček. He added that CzechBusiness is far more than simply a merger of two existing agencies. Instead, its purpose is to create a new, better-connected support system for companies, investors and start-ups.
The new agency brings together the existing services of CzechTrade and CzechInvest within a single organisation. This will make it easier for companies to navigate the support system while providing them with a single point of contact throughout their development – from innovation and investment to international expansion. At the same time, all existing services, projects and partnerships will continue without interruption.
CzechTrade's current Director General, Rudolf Klepáček, will head CzechBusiness. He said that, in future, companies should no longer have to deal with the responsibilities of different authorities but instead be able to focus on their core business.
The work of CzechBusiness is based on three main pillars: promoting exports and international expansion, supporting start-ups and innovation, and encouraging investment. These areas will in future be more closely integrated so that companies can receive targeted support at every stage of their development. At the same time, the experience, expertise and international networks of the two existing agencies will be brought together.
According to the Ministry, the success of the new agency will not be measured solely by the number of projects it delivers, but above all by its economic impact. The focus will be on projects with high added value that strengthen exports, investment, research, development and innovation, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the Czech economy.
