
¡Vamos, Česko! Three Newcomers in Santi Denia’s First Czech Republic Squad
Ambros, Macek and Radosta receive their first call-ups – four Nations League matches against Croatia, England and Spain lie ahead

The Czech Republic’s new national football coach, Santi Denia, has announced his first squad. The Spaniard has called up a total of 26 players for the upcoming matches in the top tier of the Nations League.
Lukáš Ambros of RSC Anderlecht, Roman Macek of Sparta Prague and Matěj Radosta of FK Teplice are three potential debutants in the Czech Republic squad. All three have been selected as midfielders.
Defender Michal Sáček of Górnik Zabrze also returns to the squad after five years. The 29-year-old has made one international appearance for the Czech Republic to date, against Ukraine.
The squad named by national coach Santi Denia includes 15 players who featured for the Czech Republic at the recent World Cup.

Four matches in eleven days
The Czech team will play four matches within eleven days at the start of their Nations League campaign. On 26 September, they will host Croatia at Prague’s Fortuna Arena. The first encounter with England will take place there three days later.
The squad will then travel to Spain on 2 October. One day later, the Czech Republic will face the reigning world and European champions in Oviedo. The opening autumn run concludes on 6 October with the return match against England at Wembley Stadium in London. England won the bronze medal at this summer’s World Cup.
The national team players will meet in Prague on Monday, 21 September. The team will be based there for the two home matches against Croatia and England. Following the match in Spain, the squad will travel on to England on 4 October.
The final Nations League fixtures will take place in November. On 12 November, the Czech Republic will host Spain at Prague’s epet Arena. Three days later, the team will face Croatia in Osijek in their final group match.
