Prague's Christmas markets are among the best known in Europe, attracting numerous visitors from the Czech Republic and abroad every year. The historic squares, with their illuminated buildings, festively decorated stalls and large Christmas trees, create a particularly special atmosphere.
Traditional offerings include handmade Christmas decorations, wooden toys, ceramics and gifts. The markets also have plenty to offer when it comes to food and drink: mulled wine (Svařák), hot mead (Medovina), roasted almonds, Trdelník and grilled sausages are among the most popular specialities.
