Following the reopening of the railway line between Berlin and Hamburg, journey times from Prague to Hamburg have been reduced by around 40 minutes. In addition, more direct connections to Hamburg, Kiel and Copenhagen are once again available.

Travel time between Prague and Hamburg will now be reduced to just six hours. This makes the journey around 40 minutes shorter than before the construction works on the Berlin–Hamburg railway line began. At the same time, the number of direct connections to Hamburg is being increased. Trains will now operate every two hours between 6.30 am and 4.30 pm. During the summer season, a night train will also complement the timetable. It departs Prague shortly after midnight and arrives in Hamburg at around 7 am.

More Direct Connections to Kiel and Berlin

The direct connection between Prague and Kiel is also being reintroduced. It is operated by the Hungaria train, which runs without the need to change trains from Brno and Pardubice, among other destinations, via Dresden, Berlin and Hamburg to Kiel.

In addition, further direct Vindobona services operate between Brno or Pardubice and Berlin. The journey from Brno to Berlin takes around seven hours and approximately eight and a half hours to Hamburg.

Full Service to Copenhagen

With the new timetable, the full range of connections to Denmark is also available again. During the peak season, up to three train services in each direction will operate between Prague and Copenhagen.

Travel time to Odense is around ten hours and 15 minutes, while the Danish capital Copenhagen can be reached in approximately eleven hours and 45 minutes. In addition to travellers from the Czech Republic, these services are particularly popular with passengers from Berlin and Hamburg.

Modern ComfortJet Trains in Service

The services are operated using modern ComfortJet train sets. The air-conditioned trains feature an onboard restaurant, free Wi-Fi, power sockets for charging electronic devices, as well as a digital information and entertainment portal.

In addition, the trains are fully accessible and offer dedicated areas for families with children, including a children's cinema. Bicycle transport is also available.
