Prague Pride Parade to Cause Traffic Disruption in Prague on Saturday
The exact duration of the restrictions will depend on the progress and speed of the parade

Between 12 noon and 4.00 pm on Saturday, road closures and public transport diversions will affect the city centre – the main thoroughfare near Hlávkův most will also be impacted.
The Prague Pride Parade will pass through Prague city centre on Saturday, 8 August. Due to the procession involving tens of thousands of participants, motorists and public transport passengers should expect several hours of disruption.
The highlight of this year’s Prague Pride Festival will begin at 12 noon on Saturday in the lower part of Wenceslas Square. From there, the route will follow Na Příkopě and Celetná streets, cross Old Town Square and continue to Štvanice Island. This year’s route therefore differs from previous editions of the parade, which traditionally ended at Prague’s Letná.
Between approximately 12 noon and 4.00 pm, road traffic along the route will be partially restricted. Short-term disruption is also expected on a section of Prague’s main thoroughfare near the Hlávkův most bridge.

Magistrale and Public Transport Affected
According to the city, restrictions on the main thoroughfare are expected to apply between 1.00 pm and 4.00 pm. Motorists should expect closures and delays, particularly around Těšnov, Hlávkův most and the access road to Štvanice Island.
Several public transport services will also be temporarily diverted. The area around Curie Square in Prague 1 will be particularly affected. The relevant services will be redirected via alternative routes during the parade.
The exact duration of the restrictions will depend on the progress and speed of the parade. Road users are advised to avoid the area where possible and allow additional time for their journey.

Tens of Thousands of Participants Expected
The organisers expect several tens of thousands of participants. The parade is scheduled to end on Štvanice Island at around 3.30 pm. A music festival will then take place there and is expected to continue until 10.00 pm.
Hundreds of police officers and members of the emergency and security services will accompany the event. Members of the organising team, a private security service, medical staff and 115 volunteers will also be deployed along the route.
